Prepare for the week ahead
Heading into the work week can be daunting. Thinking about the tasks ahead of you, the projects and deadlines and just the busyness of it all. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with life chores after work. How can we best prepare ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually on Sundays to tackle the work week ahead of us? Here are a few ideas you can include in your Sunday reset routine.
1. Reflect on the past week
Before we start planning and preparing for the week ahead, take some time to reflect on your past week. Do you feel that there is room to better prepare for your week ahead? Are there any outstanding tasks you need to complete or ensure you get done for the week upcoming?
2. Your Week in Review
Take a look at your scheduled events up coming. What does your week look like? What tasks are on your to-do list to get done this week? Looking at your week ahead can prepare you for what you need to get done, how you can plan and prepare, arrange your schedules and create your to-do list to ensure you are getting done what needs to be done.
3. Outfits for the week
Take the stress out of outfit planning during the week and plan ahead on Sundays. This will save you time during your busy mornings as you get ready for work and your after work plans. Neatly place your outfits out (including everything from socks, to jewelry to undergarments) so you don’t have to rush and think about what you have to wear that day. Look at the weather to dress accordingly for the week. You can also go a step further to plan your after work outfits. Going to a Pilates class after work? Set aside your athletic wear as well! Be prepared and save yourself the time (and stress) by being fashionably early.
4. Clean space, clear mind
During the week, it can be hard to find time to deep clean your space. Take the weekend to ensure you are starting off with a clean home. Your washroom, kitchen, your laundry, your at home office space. Clear your space to give you a clean environment for the week.
5. Self-care Sunday
During the work week, sometimes it feels like we are constantly on the go, in a rush and can find it hard to take a breathe and simply pause. Although it’s important to implement self-care into your schedule daily, why not take the extra time to really give yourself a break before the week begins. Take some time on your Sunday to take care of yourself, however best suits you. Take a nap, a hot bath, watch your favourite show- whatever self-care looks like to you.
Life is busy, overwhelming at times and sometimes unexpected. Some things are simply out of our control- but we can prepare for what we do expect, like our week ahead. Set some time aside this weekend to make life a little less busy and better prepare you for your week.
